AI’s potential vs. its readiness gap
The enthusiasm for AI is undeniable, with four in five CEOs acknowledging its transformative benefits. However, many fear that gaps in their understanding will lead to poor strategic decisions, missed opportunities, and a loss of competitive edge. Over 70% express concerns about falling behind due to limitations in IT expertise and network infrastructure, while more than half (53%) report that underinvestment in technology has already put them at a disadvantage.
Despite these concerns, CEOs are willing to take action. They are prioritizing investment in their workforce, modernizing digital infrastructure, and strengthening cybersecurity to future-proof their organizations. A remarkable 96% of CEOs are also leaning on trusted partners to ensure their networks are AI-ready.
Cisco’s Chief Product Officer, Jeetu Patel, underscores the urgency:
“In today’s fast-moving digital landscape, speed separates winners from losers. CEOs who act decisively to build resilient, future-proof networks will be the AI-forward leaders shaping the future of business. Ultimately, there will be only two types of companies: those that are AI-driven, and those that become irrelevant.”
