Yoshua Bengio’s bold vision for safe tech:
The AI that watches other AIs

The age of artificial intelligence is already here, but who’s keeping an eye on the AIs?

Enter Scientist AI, a revolutionary new model created by AI luminary Yoshua Bengio and launched under his new nonprofit, LawZero. Backed by $30 million from leading tech philanthropists, this project could redefine how we ensure safety, ethics, and accountability in AI-driven industries, including marketing and media.

It observes, hypothesizes, and predicts the outcomes of other AIs’ behaviors, especially the more autonomous, agentic ones that can act independently. 2. Regulation is coming: Frameworks like the EU AI Act are setting a new bar for transparency and accountability. Scientist AI offers a ready-made answer to future audits and compliance checks.
  3. Trust is valuable but fragile:With deepfakes and algorithm-driven content flooding digital spaces, consumers are more skeptical than ever. A built-in AI watchdog could be...
