AI is restructuring how creative work is produced, scaled, and controlled

What looks like a routine leadership shift in advertising is something else entirely. When senior creative leaders move into AI-driven platforms, it’s easy to read it as curiosity or career progression. It isn’t. It’s gravity. Control is moving.

For decades, creative authority lived inside agencies and in-house teams. Strategy was defined by people, execution was carried out by people, and scale was constrained by how many people you could deploy. Campaigns had beginnings and endings. Creative was something you made, shipped, and then replaced. That model is starting to feel less like tradition and more like a limitation.

The shift no one is framing correctly

Most of the industry is still describing AI in comfortable terms: a tool, a co-pilot, a way to move faster. That framing is already outdated. AI is no longer sitting inside the workflow as a layer of efficiency. It is beginning to define how the workflow operates in the first place. Creative production is moving away from episodic campaigns toward something continuous and adaptive. Content is no longer made in batches and evaluated after the fact. It is generated, tested, and replaced in real time, often without human intervention.

On platforms like Meta and TikTok, this is already happening inside live campaigns, where creative is continuously generated, tested, and replaced based on performance signals. The important shift isn’t speed. It’s that decision-making is being absorbed into the system itself. And once decision-making...
